Bio

Mai Sater is an Assistant Professor and Chairperson of the department of Medical Biochemistry at the Arabian Gulf University. She began her educational career at Isa-Town Girls Secondary School in Bahrain, were she graduated in 2003 amongst the top graduates of the country and was awarded a full scholarship from the Office of the Prime Minister to study Medicine at the Arabian Gulf University. She earned her MD degree from the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain in 2009, and was granted a BSc in Medical Research from the University of Manitoba in Canada in 2006 for her research work. Mai's motivation and ambition led to her nomination for a scholarship from the Arabian Gulf University to pursue a PhD in neuroscience from McGill University in Canada, which she earned in 2017. To date, Mai Sater has published 30 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
