Dr. Maha AlSabbagh held several positions at AGU, including Vice Dean for Technological Studies (2020-2024), Head of Natural Resources and Environment Department (2023-2024), and Coordinator of MSc in Natural Resources and Environment Program (2021-2022) and MSc in Environmental Management Program (2017-2018). She received more than 10 awards including the 12th Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Scientific Prize (2021), Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Sciences (4 times, 2016 – 2020), L’Oreal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" Middle East Award (2015), Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management (as a contributing author, 2010), Al-Idrisi Award in Applied Geography (2006), and she was honored in Eid Al-Elm 3 times. Maha has more than 25 peer-reviewed publications, supervised several postgraduate students, and contributed to a number of consultancy projects. She is a member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences (UK), Association of Climate Change Officers (USA), and a fellow of Advance HE (UK).
