Medical Biochemistry

Medical Biochemistry

Welcome to the Department

The Department of Medical Biochemistry provides a vital academic foundation for medical, nursing, and graduate students, with a strong emphasis on the biochemical basis of both normal human function and disease. In the first year of the medical and nursing curriculum, students engage in a dedicated biochemistry course that builds essential molecular and cellular knowledge. As students progress, biochemistry continues to be integrated into clinical and systems-based modules, reinforcing its importance in understanding disease mechanisms and guiding patient care. Our input in the graduate programs further extends this foundation, offering advanced training in molecular biology, clinical biochemistry, and research methodology, preparing graduates for careers in academia, healthcare, and biomedical research. Through a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on experience in modern laboratories, we aim to cultivate a deep, clinically relevant understanding of biochemistry that supports lifelong learning and professional excellence.
