Dr. Abdelhadi Abdelwahab Mohamed specializes in water management, desert farming, and soilless agriculture. Currently Chair of the Sultan Qaboos Chair for Desert Farming at the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain, he has over three decades of experience advancing sustainable agricultural practices across Africa and the Middle East. Dr. Abdelhadi earned his Ph.D. from Kobe University, Japan, focusing on Blue Nile water management systems, following master’s and diploma degrees from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K. His research integrates water efficiency, salinity mitigation, and climate adaptation strategies in arid regions. A recipient of the King Hamad First Prize for Agricultural Research, he has led numerous international projects with organizations such as AOAD, GIZ, and JSPS, and authored extensive scientific publications on irrigation, soil salinity, and sustainable crop production
