
Under the Patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince: AGU to hold Graduation Ceremony for the 18th Cohort

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) is holding a graduation ceremony of its 18th cohort for the academic year 2023/2024 at the Exhibition World Bahrain on June 23, 2024, in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH).
The event marks a significant milestone as 279 students, including 182 male and female graduates of the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences (CMMS), and 97 male and female graduates of the College of Graduate Studies (CGS), will receive their certificates.
On the occasion, SCH President praised the vital role played by AGU in supplying the Kingdom’s healthcare system with medical personnel, highlighting that the university has graduated 3,527 doctors who have contributed to the development of the healthcare system in the GCC countries since its establishment in 1980.
The Arabian Gulf University has undertaken a range of initiatives to support the health sector in Bahrain, including the establishment of the Princess Al Jawhara Al Ibrahim Centre for Molecular Medicine and Genetics, and the University Medical Centre. The upcoming King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud City will mark a significant shift in the level of healthcare services in Bahrain, with the university hospital expected to accommodate 1,200 medical staff and provide world-class treatment and educational facilities.
It’s noteworthy that AGU has embarked on a series of initiatives to support the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, including the establishment of the Princess Al Jawhara Al Ibrahim Centre for Molecular Medicine and Genetics, and the University Medical Centre, in addition to the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Medical City, which is being developed and will mark a significant leap forward in the level of healthcare services in Bahrain. Moreover, the University Hospital at the Medical City is set to become a world-class centre for treatment and education, and a vital component of the Kingdom's healthcare system, and it is planned to accommodate 1,200 medical staff.
