The Centre for Community Services, Consultancies, Training and Continuing Education (CSCTCE) at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has recently concluded a training workshop on the Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP) for a group of employees from the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs in Bahrain.

The workshop, which was held in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), focused on teaching participants how to build scenarios and model energy production and consumption, as well as calculating the costs and financial returns associated with implementing options for reducing energy consumption and emissions.

The training was attended by specialist Ms Dalal Al Baharna, Eng. Aisha Al Ghatam, Eng. Ali Radhi, and Eng. Mubarak Al Ahmad from the General Directorate of Energy Efficiency at the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs.

LEAP is a widely used tool by environmental professionals to prepare national climate change communications and studies exploring ways to achieve carbon neutrality.

AGU’s CSCTCE offers a range of specialised training courses and workshops throughout the academic year, aimed at raising competencies and qualifying participants with appropriate qualifications to serve various sectors in a professional manner that keeps pace with current digital and technological developments. The Centre believes that raising capacities and improving skills is essential for improving the quality of work in various aspects.
