
Minister of Education Commends Development of Simulation and Medical Skills Centre at the Arabian Gulf University

D His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Jumaa, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Higher Education Council, accompanied by the members of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) Board of Trustees representing the GCC countries, reviewed the advancements made at the Simulation and Medical Skills Centre within the university's College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The visit took place on the sidelines of the 96th meeting of the Board of Trustees, chaired by His Excellency Prof. Omar bin Awadh Al Rawas, and attended by His Excellency Dr Ahmed Abdulwahab Al Awadi, Kuwait’s Minister of Health.
During his tour of the centre, the Minister of Education praised the continuous training programmes provided by the centre in the field of patient-centric medical care. He highlighted the establishment of a safe and integrated electronic simulation environment that ensures unique training for students, doctors and healthcare specialists. He also emphasised the crucial role of simulation in enhancing medical education and training within the healthcare sector, reinforcing the university’s commitment to promoting the quality of medical education and innovation in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region.
For her part, Dr Reem Al Ansari, Head of the Simulation and Clinical Skills Centre, stated that the centre is dedicated to providing the necessary resources and expertise to support medical education in the region, ensuring exceptional training for health sector professionals.
“The Simulation and Clinical Skills Centre will remain committed to collaborating with medical education programmes in the region, in accordance with the directives of the esteemed university president, and will continue to play a pivotal role in advancing medical education by enhancing knowledge and skills among medical and nursing students, as well as doctors across various specialisations,” Dr Al Ansari added.
