Head of the BSc. Programme in Nursing at AGU Participates in the Annual Conference of the Saudi and Gulf Heart Associations 2024 in Riyadh

Dr Hawazen Al Rawas, Head of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programme at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), participated in the Annual Conference of the Saudi and Gulf Heart Association 2024, which took place in Riyadh. The event was attended by leading figures in the medical sector from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the GCC, who convened to discuss the latest developments in cardiology, explore technological advancements in treatment, and review cutting-edge proposals and research pertaining to heart diseases. 

The conference aims to raise awareness within the community regarding the dangers posed by such conditions and to emphasise the importance of early and appropriate treatment, while striving to provide innovative and advanced solutions to enhance the healthcare sector in the Gulf region.

Dr Al Rawas is a member of the Scientific Nursing Board at the conference and served as a judge for the nursing sessions. This significant event, sponsored by Prof. Abdullah Salman Al Salman, President of King Saud University, is recognised as one of the largest medical gatherings in the Middle East. It is organised by the Saudi Heart Association in collaboration with the Gulf Heart Association under the theme "Heart of the Matter or Matter of the Heart".

The conference showcased a distinguished group of specialists and researchers in cardiology from around the globe, featuring over 550 local and international lectures. More than 5,000 healthcare practitioners participated, alongside prominent medical associations such as the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC), the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), and the Pan-Arab Congenital Heart Disease Association (PACHDA).

This conference is part of the ongoing efforts to realise the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 within the healthcare sector and to promote sustainable scientific research that contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services. The event provided an excellent platform for the exchange of scientific expertise and the fostering of meaningful discussions that enhance collaboration among cardiology professionals.”
