Dr Hawazen Rawas, Head of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Department at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) and Chair of the Examination Committee for Cardiac Care Nursing at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, recently took part in a scientific symposium to discuss the role of women in the Saudi Board 2025. The event brought together a select group of academics, healthcare professionals and specialists.
Dr Rawas emphasised the importance of empowering female cadres in specialised medical fields, particularly in cardiac care nursing. She noted that the growing presence of women in decision‑making positions within the health sector reflects the Kingdom’s evolving institutional framework and supports the realisation of its long‑term health‑care vision.
During the symposium, Dr Rawas outlined her academic and administrative experience in leading AGU’s BSc Nursing programme. She underlined the significance of exchanging regional expertise to enhance the outcomes of health‑care education and improve the quality of nursing care provided to patients, especially in specialised areas such as cardiac care.
The online symposium also addressed strategies to boost female participation across various health‑care disciplines. Speakers stressed the need to support training and research programmes that open new horizons for women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the GCC states.
