
A Fruitful Meeting Between the Student Councils of AGU and RCSI to Discuss Joint Cooperation

Members of the Student Councils of Arabian Gulf University (AGU) and the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) met at the headquarters of RCSI to discuss joint cooperation in the field of student activities and events that benefit students of both universities, in a step aimed at enhancing cooperation besides adopting research and community initiatives that spread awareness of various diseases.
The meeting discussed several ideas that could be implemented in the future, including the organisation of workshops, joint scientific conferences and competitions, sharing expertise, enhancing communication and developing capabilities among students in various academic, medical and cultural fields in a manner that boosts joint educational experiences.
Members of the Student Councils of both universities stressed the importance of student cooperation, affirming that this type of meeting builds bridges of communication for the exchange of knowledge and the development of youth which expands their academic and social horizons.
The meeting included a tour of the RCSI campus, where they were introduced to the various facilities of the college, including lecture halls, the simulation centre, and the library. A meeting was then held in which members discussed the study system in the College of Medicine at the two universities, as well as the nomination and qualification system for the Student Council and its roles.
They also discussed possible aspects of cooperation between the two councils, such as holding research, conferences, and voluntary awareness activities. It was agreed to develop a future plan to strengthen relations between students from the two universities.
