AGU Signs Contract for Phase Four of Student Accommodation Development in Sakhir with Naz Al Khaleej Contracting Group

The President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, signed a contract for the fourth phase of the student accommodation development project in Sakhir with Mr Shahid Mahmood, CEO of Naz Al Khaleej Contracting Group.  The project aims to renovate and upgrade student accommodation to enhance comfort for students from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries residing on campus.

Dr Al Fuhaid expressed confidence in Naz Al Khaleej Contracting Group's commitment to delivering the project on time, citing their expertise in design, construction, and project management. He emphasised the university's dedication to providing suitable housing that ensures student comfort, stability, and a healthy environment conducive to academic achievement, aligning with the university's strategic academic, social, and health objectives.  

He reiterated the university's commitment to upgrading all services provided to students, particularly student accommmodation, according to environmentally friendly building quality standards and full safety and security requirements.

Mr Shahid Mahmood, CEO of Naz Al Khaleej Contracting Group, welcomed the continued collaboration with AGU, confirming his company's commitment to delivering the Sakhir student accommodation development project ahead of schedule. 

The project includes renovating rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and kitchens in various housing buildings, as well as upgrading electricity, air conditioning, sanitation, roof waterproofing, electrical appliances, and lighting. He anticipates project completion by the end of December.

The five-phase project encompasses the development of 492 student rooms, along with an additional 144 rooms for postgraduate students in the College of Education, Administrative and Technological Sciences.  It also includes the replacement and maintenance of the internal sewage network within the student accommodation complex.  The phased approach ensures minimal disruption to students during their residency.

Furthermore, two gymnasiums (one for males and one for females) and new laundry rooms have been constructed.  The student accommodation complex has been fully fenced, and car parking areas have been shaded.  The university is currently undertaking landscaping and tree planting as part of preparations for the current academic year, responding to student needs and providing services that meet their aspirations throughout their university studies.
