Twenty-eight MBA students from Arabian Gulf University (AGU) have embarked on an educational trip to ESSEC Business School in Paris. This initiative is part of the academic partnership between the two institutions, aimed at enriching students' global exposure and equipping them with contemporary leadership and management skills.
On this occasion, His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al-Fuhaid, President of AGU, expressed his full support, praising the university's efforts in delivering high-quality educational programmes that expand students' international perspectives. He stated, "This visit reflects our commitment to integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, fostering innovation and leadership among our students, and preparing business leaders capable of competing on a global stage."
ESSEC is among the most prestigious schools worldwide. Ranked among the top ten MBA programmes in Europe for 2024 by the Financial Times, it also holds the Triple Crown accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA, signifying its excellence in global business education.
Students enrolled in the MBA program will receive a certificate issued jointly by AGU and ESSEC Business School.
This trip comprises a key component of the MBA curriculum. During their stay in France, students will participate in three specialised academic modules: Global Strategy, Facilities Management, and Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. The programme includes visits to leading French companies, providing students with insights into international management practices and entrepreneurship.
Prof Waleed Khalil Zubari, Dean of the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences at AGU, expressed pride in this experience, stating, “This trip embodies our vision of preparing business leaders with a global outlook and the capacity to drive change regionally and internationally. Direct exposure to international economic environments significantly enhances educational quality and bridges theory with real-world practice.”
This collaboration exemplifies an extended partnership designed to develop Gulf students’ competencies and enable engagement with the latest global practices within a multicultural educational setting.
Prof Adel Ismail Al-Alawi, Coordinator of the MBA Programme, highlighted the importance of the experience, noting, “Our students are ambassadors of the Gulf to the world. This trip offers an invaluable opportunity to build international professional networks and strengthen our region’s position in the global economy.”
The trip itinerary includes interactive morning lectures by ESSEC professors, focusing on case studies from global companies, followed by evening visits to major economic institutions in Paris. These activities aim to enhance students’ strategic thinking and understanding of international market dynamics.
Student Shouq Bahman shared her personal perspective, commenting, "This experience will allow us to apply what we learn in Bahrain to real-world scenarios in Paris. It will broaden our horizons and inspires us to bring innovative ideas back home to contribute to our region's business development."
This trip reflects AGU’s commitment to cultivating globally competent business leaders with a forward-looking vision, aligning with its mission to deliver quality education that connects local initiatives with international standards.
