Professor Adel Bouhoula, Head of the Department of Information Technology at the College of Education, Administrative, and Technical Sciences at Arabian Gulf University (AGU), has been appointed to the scientific committee of the European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2025), which holds an A global ranking, and the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI 2025), ranked A*. These appointments affirm the increasing international recognition of AGU’s research capabilities and academic standing in the scientific community, as both conferences are among the most prestigious and competitive in the field of AI.

Professor Bouhoula expressed his pride in this academic achievement, stressing that his participation in both committees reflects the global acknowledgment of the university’s high-quality research and highlights its expanding role in shaping the future of AI regionally and worldwide.

Furthermore, Professor Bouhoula contributed to IJCAI 2025 by publishing an innovative research paper that reviews a novel technology for designing secure and reliable systems across various critical sectors. This underscores the university’s commitment to directing its research toward practical, sustainable solutions that address the demands of the digital age. In line with this vision, the university launched a master's degree program in Next Generation Computing in September 2024, which combines AI and cybersecurity. Furthermore, a professional diploma in Modern and Future Cybersecurity Technology is soon to be introduced, with a focus on AI applications in countering advanced cyber threats.

He stated, “The university believes that integrating AI and cybersecurity has become a strategic necessity amidst escalating global cyber threats. Through these advanced academic programs, we aim to prepare a skilled cadre equipped with the knowledge and expertise required to meet the challenges of the digital era.”
