Welcome to the Department of Physiology

The Physiology Department at the Arabian Gulf University is one of the fundamental departments within the College of Medicine and Health Sciences. It focuses on studying how the various body systems function at the cellular, tissue, and organ levels, with an emphasis on understanding the vital processes that enable the body to perform its functions normally. The department’s main tasks include teaching physiology to medical and health sciences students, providing practical training to help students understand physiological functions through laboratory work and experiments, and supporting scientific research related to body functions, particularly in areas concerning cardiovascular, nervous, gastrointestinal, and endocrine system disorders. The department also aims to promote an integrated understanding of body functions as a foundation for studying diseases and treatments, encourage applied scientific research in medical physiology, and contribute to the continuous development of educational curricula in line with the latest medical advancements.
