Bio

Dr. Deeba is a core biochemist with a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry (2009) from Aligarh Muslim University, India. Her teaching experience of 16 years started in 2009 as a Lecturer, followed by as an Assistant professor in 2010 in some of the India’s best universities viz. Jamia Millia Islamia and Jamia Hamdard. In 2013, Dr. Deeba started her journey in the Department of Medical Biochemistry (CMHS) AGU, as an assistant professor, later getting promoted to associate in 2022. She has expertise in teaching biochemistry or related topics to undergraduate, graduates and postgraduates like biomolecules structure and function, metabolism, and associated diseases along with cellular and molecular biology. Her research work orients largely towards computational studies for drug targets, microRNA profiling in women health and pregnancy associated disorders, which allowed her to author and co-author multiple publications in international peer reviewed journals. Dr. Deeba currently manages the leadership, ethics and professionalism program for medical students in AGU and has mentored students in research activities under programs like medical gifted and talented program.
