Leadership, Ethics, and Professionalism (LEAP) 

The Leadership, Ethics, and Professionalism (LEAP) is a comprehensive initiative designed to foster the development of essential ethical, leadership, and professional skills among medical students. Through a combination of interactive workshops and online educational content, the program equips students with the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to identify and apply the complexities of the medical profession and become well-rounded healthcare providers.

Objectives of the LEAP Program:
  • Enhance Ethical Understanding: Students gain a deep understanding of ethical principles and their application in medical practice, enabling them to make sound ethical decisions and uphold patient well-being.
  • Develop Leadership Skills: Students develop leadership competencies and effective communication, preparing them to take on leadership roles in the healthcare setting.
  • Promote Professionalism: Students apply the principles of professionalism, including integrity, respect, empathy, and accountability, ensuring they maintain high standards of conduct throughout their careers.
  • Achieve Work-Life Balance: Students learn strategies for achieving a healthy work-life balance, recognizing the importance of personal well-being in maintaining professional effectiveness.
Program Structure and Requirements:
  • Phased Implementation: The LEAP Program is implemented across Phases Two and Three of the medical education curriculum.
  • Interactive Workshops: Students participate in a series of interactive workshops that address key topics in ethics, leadership, and professionalism.
  • Online Educational Content: Students engage with online educational modules that provide in-depth coverage of the program's core concepts.
  • Mandatory Completion: Full completion of the online content and active participation in all required workshops are mandatory for successful completion of the program.
