The Alumni Unit under the Deanship of Student Affairs at Arabian Gulf University (AGU) recently organised a Ramadan Ghabga for the university's graduates. The event was attended by over 100 alumni from various colleges and batches, aiming to strengthen the connection between the university and its graduates while highlighting upcoming projects the Alumni Unit plans to implement.
In his opening remarks, Dr Ghazi bin Abdulrahman Al Otaibi, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research, emphasised the vital role graduates play in supporting the university's growth and enhancing its reputation both locally and internationally.
He referred to alumni as ambassadors of AGU across various fields and within Gulf communities, noting their successes and achievements as a source of pride for the institution. Dr Al Otaibi remarked that the bond between graduates and the university extends beyond graduation, fostering active participation in university activities and events, which helps cultivate a robust support network that drives further progress and innovation.
Following Dr Al Otaibi’s address, Dr Abdulla Ismaeel Mohamed, Head of the Alumni Unit, shared the unit's mission and vision, encouraging graduates to register on the unit's online platform to facilitate better communication. An open discussion session followed, allowing graduates to engage with Dr Al Otaibi on three key topics: the university's role in supporting its graduates, graduates' responsibilities toward their alma mater, and strategies for enhancing alumni communication.
The event also featured competitions and the distribution of prizes, along with a raffle for 20 prizes valued at BD 50, sponsored by Bahrain Islamic Bank. Additionally, an exhibition showcasing graduate photos spanning over four decades was displayed.
