Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Arabian Gulf University celebrated the graduation of its 39th batch of graduates on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Exhibition World Bahrain, in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, along with a number of Their Excellencies, distinguished guests, and parents from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The ceremony saw the graduation of 287 students, including 171 graduates from the Doctor of Medicine program, and 116 graduates from higher diploma, master’s, and doctoral programs in various educational, technical, and administrative specializations—a scene that embodied the depth of the university’s academic mission and the breadth of its regional contribution to preparing specialized professionals.

In his remarks at the beginning of the ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for patronizing the ceremony. He expressed his pride in the Kingdom’s pioneering achievements in various fields, particularly in the education sector, during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support and follow up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Minister affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is proud of the Arabian Gulf University, which is considered one of the outcomes of joint Gulf cooperation and has today become one of the leading academic institutions and most distinguished centers of scholarship and research, embodying a pioneering model of Gulf cooperation in supporting education and scientific research.

He expressed his pride in the remarkable achievements made by the Arabian Gulf University during the past academic year, which included the launch of its Strategic Plan 2026–2030, the inauguration of its digital transformation project, and the enhancement of its readiness to meet the demands of the future.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Saad bin Saud Al-Fahaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University, expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to Their Majesties and Their Highnesses, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in appreciation of their generous and ongoing support for the university’s progress. He also expressed his appreciation for the gracious patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for this ceremony, which reflects the leadership’s interest in education and in students.

He expressed his pride in the graduation of a new batch of students from the Arabian Gulf region, emphasizing that the excellence of the university’s graduates is measured not by their sheer numbers, but rather by the depth of their knowledge and the quality of their skills. He noted that rapid technological transformations, particularly the information revolution and artificial intelligence platforms, have helped hone their abilities and strengthen their passion for lifelong learning, making innovation a well-established approach in their professional careers.

The ceremony featured the launch of the Arabian Gulf University’s new institutional identity, a significant step that reflects its renewed vision and ambitious strategy for the future. An introductory video highlighting the key features of this identity was also shown, followed by the graduates’ address, delivered on their behalf by graduate Sheikha Al-Juwaisri, Khalid Al-Shammari, and Amna Al-Junaid, who expressed their pride in this pivotal stage in their lives. The ceremony also included a documentary film showcasing the graduates’ academic journey and their most notable achievements during their years of study, presenting a human and academic portrait that embodied their journey of dedication and hard work.

During the ceremony, His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, joined by His Excellency the Minister of Education and His Excellency the University President, honored the outstanding graduates who received honors from the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences, followed by students from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, followed by honoring doctors and swearing the doctor's oath at the conclusion of the ceremony.

It is worth noting that the Arabian Gulf University has continued to play a leading role since its founding in 1980 in supporting human development initiatives in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, having contributed 3,624 male and female doctors to the healthcare sector, in addition to graduating 2,475 holders of advanced diplomas, master’s degrees, and doctorates in the fields of education, innovation management, technology, environmental sciences, and life sciences, thereby reinforcing its position as a leading Gulf academic and research institution in knowledge production and capacity building across the region.
