Dr Khalifa bin Ali Alfadhel, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), recently recognised four exceptional students from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Arabian Gulf University (AGU) for their outstanding contributions to scientific research. The honours were presented during the centre’s annual Ramadan ghabga, themed "Partnership in Research: Youth and Experts Together for a Promising Future," which was attended by prominent youth, academic, media, and diplomatic personnel.

Dr Hamad Ibrahim Al Abdullah, Executive Director of Derasat, expressed pride in the remarkable achievements of AGU students in the field of scientific research. He stressed that the strategic partnership with AGU aligns seamlessly with the centre’s mission to foster research initiatives that drive innovation, advance scientific knowledge, and benefit society at large. This recognition aims to positively influence the students' academic careers and underscores AGU's commitment to supporting scientific research and innovation.

During the ghabga, which was also attended by Prof. Waleed Zubari, Dean of the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences, Dr Alfadhel presented commemorative shields to the honoured students. The recipients included Mazen Saeed Al Zahrani, a student in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences; Shaikha Mai bint Mohamed Al Khalifa and Noora Abdullah Janahi, PhD candidates in Innovation and Technology Management at the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences; and Zainab Mahmoud Sultan, a master's student in the Gifted Education Program. This ceremony reaffirmed Derasat's commitment to prioritising young researchers and developing their skills in scientific methodologies, innovation, and knowledge dissemination. The centre encourages these students to engage with platforms of knowledge, embrace digital transformation, and contribute to a wide array of fields, thereby enriching libraries in Bahrain, the Gulf region, the Arab world, and beyond.

The honoured students expressed their gratitude for this recognition from Derasat, appreciating the centre’s initiatives to support young researchers. They believe these efforts reflect a commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in scientific research, motivating them to continue their academic pursuits and contribute to the expansion of knowledge.
