Dr. Adla Bakri Hassan graduated from Gezira University, Sudan. She did her first 4 years of training in Sudan, then did her postgraduate studies, MPhil and PhD (2002), at Karolinska Institute and Karolinska Hospital (Stockholm, Sweden). Dr Hassan obtained the MRCP training program for rheumatologists (2003-2004) at Hope Hospital (Manchester, United Kingdom). In 2015, She obtained a PgDip in musculoskeletal ultrasound (UCAM University, Spain). She has over 25 years of experience treating rheumatic patients in Sudan, Sweden, the UK, and Bahrain. Currently, she is an associate professor at the Internal Medicine Department at Arabian Gulf University (since 2009) and a Consultant Rheumatologist at King Abdulla Medical City/UMC (up to date). She has over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of the review boards for 6 peer-reviewed journals, a member of the British Society for Rheumatology (BSR), the Bahrain Medical Society, and the Sudanese Association for Rheumatology (SAR).
