Graduated from University of Khartoum, Sudan with distinctions in all clinical subjects and awarded Lord Kitchner’s Memorial prize for best academic performance. Appointed as a teaching assistant and did my residency training in Sudan then sent to the Great Ormond Street Children Hospital in London, UK for further training. I got the MRCP (UK) and specialized training in clinical pediatric endocrinology, and from there I joined Uppsala university, Sweden for a PhD degree in endocrinology. In addition, I attended short advanced training courses at Pittsburg University in the US and courses in medical education at Dundee University in Scotland. I am a member of WHO-EMRO childhood diabetes experts’ committee and an examiner for the clinical exam of the RCPCH (UK), and the Arab Board. I worked as faculty in the university of Khartoum, Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and joined AGU in 2014.
