
UMC Signs Cooperation Agreement with Multiple Sclerosis Patients Society

The CEO of the University Medical Centre (UMC) in King Abdullah Medical City, Dr Salman Hamad Alzayani, signed a cooperation agreement with the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Multiple Sclerosis Patients Society, Ms Nahla Abu Al-Fath. The aim is to enhance cooperation between the two parties in health care, and improving medical services provided to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients, by benefiting from the expertise of specialists at UMC.
After the signing, Dr Salman Hamad Alzayani stated, "We are proud to sign this agreement, which will improve healthcare for patients with MS –a chronic disease that affects the nervous system– strengthening the partnership between UMC and the MS Patients Society. I affirm UMC’s commitment to providing the best medical services and keenness to develop medical and diagnostic services for all patients in Bahrain and the countries of the region."
He expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Bahrain MS Patients Society in serving and supporting patients, stressing that the Arabian Gulf University and UMC are prepared to provide full support to the society to achieve its noble objectives.
For her part, Ms Nahla Abu Al-Fath stressed the importance of this partnership for improving healthcare for MS patients, noting that cooperation with health institutions contributes to activating comprehensive strategies to enhance quality of life. This cooperation represents an important step towards providing integrated and supportive medical services to patients.
She praised UMC’s efforts to educate the community and raise public awareness of various neurological disorders, especially given the increasing number of MS patients and the growing need to enhance self-care and healthy living for individuals, families and society. She commended the efforts to follow up on patients in a manner that serves this group and cares for them in the best possible way.
This cooperation comes as part of UMC’s strategy to enhance partnerships with various civil societies, which contributes to improved healthcare and the exchange of medical expertise.
