The Special Education Department at the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences at Arabian Gulf University (AGU) recently organised a series of training workshops over two consecutive days, led by Khadija Mufleh, a master's student in Gifted Education, under the supervision of Dr Fatima Al Jassim and Dr Maha Al-Suleiman. Within the context of community engagement, the workshops reflect academic empowerment, initiative, and community leadership.
The workshops brought together approximately 30 teachers from various disciplines and focused on developing students' higher-order thinking skills, offering practical strategies for seamlessly integrating these skills into the curriculum. Participants engaged in stimulating activities and interactive exercises designed to enhance higher-order thinking, raising participants' awareness and developing their teaching tools.
Khadija Mufleh provided specialised guidance on the rapid analysis process of curriculum units. She explored practical models for integrating analysis, evaluation, and synthesis into daily lesson plans to improve learning outcomes and foster deep, reflective thinking among students. The feedback from attending teachers was highly positive, highlighting the relevance and practicality of the content for classroom application. This initiative underscores the vital role of student researchers in advancing educational quality and strengthening the university's role in serving the community.
