Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), has emphasised that the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reflect a historical approach to collaborative work and mutual cooperation.

He stressed that this relationship is built on robust foundations deeply rooted in the bonds of brotherhood that connect the two sisterly nations—both in leadership and among their peoples, noting that their rich cultural and historical heritage has contributed significantly to numerous achievements and accomplishments, manifested through fruitful partnerships in various economic, social and educational sectors, as well as in their unified stances on international issues and shared political visions.

In a special statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the occasion of the Saudi National Day, Dr Al Fuhaid noted that the Saudi-Bahraini brotherhood serves as a benchmark for integrated relations between countries, with the two kingdoms standing together in various positions and confronting all challenges. They look to the future with optimism, aspiring to strengthen the bonds of this brotherly cooperation across all spheres, thereby continuing their shared prosperity under wise leadership and the historical ties that link the Saudi and Bahraini peoples. This collaborative spirit aims to bring about goodness, progress and prosperity for both kingdoms.

Dr Al Fuhaid extended his warmest congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Crown and Prime Minister, on the occasion of the 94th Saudi National Day. He highlighted the profound historical brotherly relations uniting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain, attributing this bond to the wisdom of their leaders and their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation across various fields, following the legacy of their forefathers.

Moreover, Dr Al Fuhaid praised the support given to the Arabian Gulf University by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He underscored the significant projects undertaken at the university, made possible through these fraternal relations, such as the Princess Al Jawhara bint Ibrahim Al Ibrahim Centrd for Molecular Medicine, and Genetic Sciences and Disorders, and the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Medical City, which is being developed with a generous joint Saudi-Bahraini grant. The late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud had graciously donated SAR one billion to establish a medical city in Bahrain, affiliated with AGU. Additionally, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa initiated a Royal Decree to allocate an area of one million square metres to accommodate this significant project.

Dr Al Fuhaid also highlighted the fruitful educational cooperation between the two brotherly nations, which encompasses all aspects of education and reflects a continual commitment to exchanging expertise, knowledge and experiences in various educational fields.

He concluded his statement saying: “The two brotherly countries are confidently advancing toward enhancing their human resources, enriching the intellectual competencies of emerging generations, elevating the quality of educational services and providing an environment conducive to creativity, innovation and excellence.”
