Hamdan Foundation Signs MoU with the Arabian Gulf University in the Kingdom of Bahrain

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the 96th Board of Trustees meeting held on Thursday (January 9, 2025). The MoU was signed by His Excellency Dr Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, and His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of AGU.

Dr Al Fuhaid expressed his pride in signing the MoU with the Foundation, stating: “This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to creating strategic partnerships with scientific institutions that contribute to delivering quality initiatives and advanced educational and training programmes. These efforts support comprehensive development and enhance innovation across various fields. We hope that this MoU, through its stipulated terms, will drive constructive cooperation in the areas of educational and medical excellence, talent and innovation.”

For his part, Dr Al Suwaidi commented: “We are delighted to sign this agreement with the Arabian Gulf University, which is considered one of the leading and influential universities in the educational landscape of the region. Through this partnership, we aim to enhance communication, share experiences and leverage available capabilities to support programmes and projects related to medical and educational excellence, as well as to nurture talented individuals and innovators, in addition to the awards directed at the medical and educational sectors.”

“The signing of this agreement aligns with our commitment to developing scientific, cultural and innovative achievements by fostering cooperation and creating strategic partnerships with educational institutions around the world and other relevant entities involved in our activities. We hope that this MoU will mark a genuine start to significant achievements whereby we contribute to numerous successes and gain further knowledge and experience,” he added.

Dr Al Suwaidi commended the significant role played by AGU in addressing the developmental issues of the GCC countries, highlighting its distinguished contributions to the field of medical sciences and enhancing healthcare through its pioneering institutions and the innovative and effective programmes it offers in education, science and medicine.

According to the MoU, both parties will work collaboratively in the fields of educational and medical excellence, talent and innovation. They will also conduct joint research and studies related to these fields, as well as exchange educational and medical expertise relevant to evolving needs, thereby aiding in the planning of various support programmes targeting distinguished individuals, talented people and innovators.

Furthermore, both parties will enhance their contribution by providing technical support and specialised consultations in excellence and quality standards in education and medicine for the public benefit. They will also organise conferences, seminars, meetings and specialised training programmes aimed at developing human resources in the areas of medical and educational excellence, talent and innovation.
