It reviewed proposals on enhancing academic innovation and research collaborations. Furthermore, the Council discussed mechanisms for annual faculty performance evaluations, and revised regulations related to scholarships and training. Several scholarship applications were considered, in addition.

Dr Ghazi Alotaibi stated, “This meeting marks a starting point towards advancing AGU’s progress in higher education and scientific research. We are committed to developing academic programmes aligned with the needs of the labour market while supporting academic excellence.” He explained that strengthening research collaborations across colleges and academic centres will contribute to the achievement of leadership in regional and international research and scientific fields.

The meeting featured the presentation of innovative ideas and development initiatives that serve institutional excellence as well as scientific leadership. The Scientific Council is expected to hold regular meetings throughout the current academic year to monitor progress, review proposals, and support the university’s academic and research endeavours.
