His Excellency Dr Saad Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), extended his heartfelt congratulations and sincere expressions of loyalty to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the occasion of the 94th glorious National Day of the Kingdom.

During the celebration organised by the university in collaboration with the Saudi Cultural Mission in the Kingdom of Bahrain, attended by His Excellency Mr Fahad bin Mohammed bin Munaikher, Acting Chargé d'Affaires at the Saudi Embassy in Bahrain, His Excellency Dr Mubarak Al Dossari, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Bahrain, and His Excellency Eng. Khalid Al Osaimi, CEO of the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) in Bahrain, Dr Al Fuhaid stated: “On this dear occasion, the family of the Arabian Gulf University proudly conveys its warmest congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, and its people on their glorious day. This occasion represents a cherished memory in the hearts of every Saudi and Gulf citizen, as we recall the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s history rich in generosity and its prosperous present filled with development and achievements.”

He further said: “I would like to take this opportunity to express my utmost gratitude and appreciation to the Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, for their continuous support of our university and their significant commitment to enhancing cooperation and solidarity among Gulf countries, driving initiatives towards growth and development in all fields.” 

“The anniversary of the Saudi National Day returns each year, documenting our connection to the achievements of the homeland, established for the sake of His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, and his loyal men from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They made tremendous sacrifices for the establishment and continuity of our beloved Kingdom, building it on the foundations of unity and the values of justice, brotherhood and peace,” Dr Al Fuhaid remarked. 

Furthermore, the President pointed out: “This celebration, involving students from various Gulf countries in commemoration of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, embodies a unified Gulf identity and reflects the deep-rooted bonds of brotherhood that unite us. It reaffirms our shared ties, authentic Arab customs, a singular culture and a civilisation with deep historical roots, as we all move towards a bright future filled with hope and ambition.”

In the context of his speech, he highlighted several pioneering integration projects, with AGU being one of the oldest initiatives embodying Gulf cooperation in the education sector, explaining that the university, since its establishment in 1980, has been a true reflection of the genuine desire of the leaders and peoples of the Gulf states to enhance the quality of education in the region. He praised the generous support the university has received since its inception from Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the member states, which has enabled it to continue its pioneering roles and pursue its goals. At the same time, Dr Al Fuhaid appreciated the substantial support the university has received from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from its establishment to the present day, as a testament to the Kingdom's belief in our unity as Gulf citizens and the interconnectedness of our history, present, and future.

Moreover, the President expressed his pride in the university’s graduates from Saudi Arabia, who number 1,347 since its establishment. He extended a salute of pride and appreciation to the 390 Saudi students enrolled in various university programmes, adding: “The feeling of pride and honour extends to our sons and daughters from the Gulf states, as they represent the vibrant present and promising future of our flourishing Gulf nations.”

For her part, student Ms. Layan Al Harbi delivered a speech representing the students of AGU, expressing her love for the homeland. Meanwhile, Dr Tarik Al Shaibani, Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, recited a poem reflecting the brotherly relations and the Bahraini people’s love for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing for continued prosperity, safety and security for Saudi Arabia and its people on their National Day. 

At the same time, Saudi students and their colleagues from the GCC countries expressed their joy on this National Day through participating in folk dances, singing national songs and engaging in various cultural competitions held during the event, which witnessed wide student and academic attendance, showcasing the unity of the shared Gulf identity.
