The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) hosted the final projects exhibition for its preparatory year students for 2025, featuring the efforts of 79 students divided into 9 teams. Each team presented an initiative addressing awareness, scientific or environmental issues, reflecting contemporary societal concerns within the GCC region. The exhibition day marked the culmination of a month and a half of collaborative effort, providing practical application of research, planning and presentation skills acquired through the "Teamwork" course.
This year's projects showcased a diverse range of topics, including mental health, biotechnology, environmental innovation, and active learning. Notable projects included "Mindfulness" focusing on mental awareness, and "Beyond the Shock" addressing psychological recovery. The "Tech-Nova" project proposed natural-material-based solutions for carbon dioxide absorption, while the "Gulf Upcycle" team introduced innovative recycling ideas using biotechnological techniques.
Students also launched community awareness initiatives such as "PharmaFood," which promotes food as medicine; "Eduventure," aimed at transforming education into an engaging, interactive experience; "Game On," highlighting the therapeutic and developmental potential of gaming; and "EnerJoy," combining sports and entertainment through an innovative approach.
The exhibition was attended by His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of AGU, who expressed his admiration for the creative level of the projects. He emphasised the importance of supporting initiatives that develop students' skills and foster a culture of innovation and teamwork. His Excellency encouraged students to continue refining their ideas and transforming them into implementable projects.
This exhibition reflects AGU’s commitment to preparing its students from the outset to be pioneers of change within their communities. Through training in critical thinking, innovation, and teamwork, the university aims to cultivate leadership qualities aligned with its vision of developing capable cadres to meet the developmental challenges of the GCC region.
