
Aiming to Enhance Health Services in the Fields of ENT and Sleep Disorders: University Medical Centre Signs Cooperation Agreement with Vitality Centre for Medicine and Sleep Disorders

Dr Salman Hamad Al Zayani, Chief Executive Officer of the University Medical Centre at King Abdullah Medical City, has signed a collaboration agreement with Prof. Hisham Youssef Ali Al Rayes, Co-founder of the Vitality Centre for Medicine and Sleep Disorders, and Consultant of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Diseases and Surgeries. The agreement aims to strengthen and enhance the health services offered in the areas of ENT and sleep disorders, with an objective to broaden the horizons of collaboration in the exchange of medical expertise and knowledge, and to advance the medical services provided to patients by both parties.
The agreement covers various areas, such as the exchange of expertise between the medical staff of both centres to elevate the level of efficiency, services and surgical operations. It also focuses on developing sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment services using the latest technology, alongside organising joint workshops and training programmes to improve the quality of healthcare. Furthermore, it includes conducting joint clinical research to study and develop treatments related to sleep issues.
The cooperation agreement aims to develop specialised healthcare programmes, exchange research and medical expertise, and provide medical training to improve the quality of medical services using the latest technology and smart devices in the healthcare sector. This agreement is a significant step towards fostering joint cooperation in the medical field and reflects both parties’ commitment to enhancing healthcare and contributing to the improvement of community health in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC countries.
The signing ceremony was held at the University Medical Centre, in the attendance of a number of officials from both sides. On the occasion, Dr Al Zayani emphasised the importance of this agreement in enhancing mutual relations in various diagnostic and therapeutic fields, including ENT and sleep disorders. He stated that this partnership represents a strategic step towards elevating medical services and improving healthcare standards between the parties to serve the people of Bahrain and the region.
Dr Al Zayani further highlighted that this cooperation enhances the University Medical Centre’s commitment to providing advanced medical services and the highest level of care across various medical fields. This agreement reflects the commitment of all parties to patient health, solidifying the centre’s position as a leading destination for various medical specialisations in the region.
“We believe in the importance of joint cooperation with hospitals and health centres in the private sector within the Kingdom of Bahrain. Together, we strive to enhance and support the development of medical and health services, and improve the quality of care and medical services provided through the exchange of knowledge, expertise and modern healthcare practices for the benefit of all patients,” Dr Al Zayani commented.
In turn, Prof. Al Rayes expressed his delight at this cooperation, affirming that the agreement seeks to establish long-term collaboration in multiple medical fields and specialisations between the two parties.
He explained that this encompasses the exchange of clinical and medical expertise, the development of specialised healthcare programmes in ENT and sleep disorders, and innovations in modern medicine, all contributing to the improvement of the quality of medical and health services offered to patients.
He added: “We are committed to providing the best possible healthcare, and this agreement will contribute to enhancing expertise and achieving integration between medical institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The cooperation with the University Medical Centre at King Abdullah Medical City will strengthen joint collaboration and improve clinical practices.”
