Yousif Ahmed Awad, a PhD student specialising in Innovation Management at Arabian Gulf University (AGU), has co-authored a peer-reviewed scientific paper published in the academic journal Management and Sustainability: An Arab Review, issued by the global publisher Emerald.

The paper, titled "Assessing Gamification and Corporate Sustainability: The Role of Embracing Digital Transformation and Open Innovation in Ecosystem," explores how gamification can enhance corporate sustainability in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through digital transformation and open innovation. Digital transformation involves leveraging digital technologies to optimise operations and management, while open innovation encourages the integration of ideas and solutions both internally and externally to boost innovation and competitiveness.

Gamification, the application of game-like elements such as rewards, challenges, and point systems in the workplace, aims to increase employee engagement, foster motivation, and improve organisational performance in an engaging and effective manner. The study illustrates that gamification supports innovation and digital transformation, which in turn foster a sustainable corporate environment and enhance stakeholder engagement toward achieving sustainable development goals.

The research was conducted by Yousif Ahmed Awad in collaboration with Dr Meshari Abdulhameed Alsafran, Dr Ahmed Alsaber, Dr Shihanah Almutairi, and Dr Anwar Al-Kandari.

This publication marks a significant milestone for AGU, highlighting its commitment to advancing applied scientific research and strengthening its leadership in the fields of innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability.
