
AGU President Honours Prof. Waheeb Al Naser

His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), honoured Prof. Waheeb Essa Al Naser, Professor of Applied Physics, on the occasion of the completion of his term as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research.
During the honouring ceremony, the President praised Prof. Al Naser’s scientific and academic journey, which has been characterised by ongoing contributions at both local and Gulf levels.
Commenting further on the occasion, Dr Al Fuhaid stated: “Professor Al Naser’s contributions have been pivotal in enhancing the university’s status in the realm of scientific research and academic development, as he has provided numerous ideas that have significantly advanced academic programmes and fostered collaboration between universities and research institutions in the region.”
The President highlighted Prof. Al Naser’s contributions in the fields of physics, renewable energy, environment and astronomy, explaining that his diverse scientific interests have enriched the scientific discourse in these areas, making him one of the prominent figures in the academic community.
For his part, Prof. Al Naser expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the President for the continuous support he has received from the university administration, commending the academic environment that nurtures scientific research.
He said: “The achievements realised during the past period are the result of collective effort and the collaborative endeavours of all my colleagues in both the academic and administrative bodies.”
“My experience at the university has been filled with challenges and opportunities that have facilitated my professional growth in academia and research,” Prof. Al Naser said, emphasising the importance of enhancing cooperation between universities and research institutions in the region.
He indicated that sustainable collaboration is the ideal path to achieving scientific advancement and innovation in the GCC region and the Arab world at large.
