
AGU President Congratulates Wise Leadership on the Occasion of the 23rd Anniversary of the Establishment of the Supreme Council for Women

His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of the SCW.
Dr Al Fuhaid lauded the pioneering role of Her Royal Highness in contributing to the development and progress of Bahraini women across various levels and fields. He expressed his immense pride and appreciation for the achievements of Bahraini women, recognising their significant contributions since the establishment of the Council 23 years ago.
Furthermore, the President emphasised that women in Bahrain represent a pioneering model in the GCC, highlighting that the leadership of Her Royal Highness, the Consort of His Majesty the King, in the presidency of the SCW underscores the national commitment to empowering and elevating Bahraini women in both current and future contexts.
Dr Al Fuhaid also commended the national initiatives and programmes that enhance the efforts and contributions of women, recognising them as essential partners in building and advancing the nation. He reaffirmed the crucial and pivotal roles played by the SCW in promoting the sustainable progress of Bahraini women and in showcasing their potential and capabilities in the field of sustainable development.
In this regard, Dr Al Fuhaid expressed pride in the achievements of women within the academic sector and their exceptional experiences in higher education. He highlighted their influential roles in fostering female partnerships in the pursuit of national accomplishments and reiterated the University’s commitment to attracting distinguished female talents and providing them with opportunities for growth and scientific success.
Elaborating father, he stated: “Women at the Arabian Gulf University have made significant contributions that have enriched their academic careers and enabled them to achieve advanced positions owing to their merit, dedication and accomplishments.”
Dr Al Fuhaid further praised their active participation in various international conferences and their recognition through numerous international awards in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. He also commended their involvement in providing consultations, studies and training, as well as organising and preparing conferences in medicine, environment, education, sustainable development and innovation.
