AGU President Congratulates Bahraini Women, Commends Their Role as a Leading Gulf Model in Promoting Sustainable Development

His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day. He praised Her Royal Highness's pivotal role in the progress and advancement of Bahraini women across various sectors.

Dr Al Fuhaid expressed profound pride in the achievements and gains of Bahraini women, which merit recognition and appreciation since the establishment of the SCW. He described Bahraini women as a leading model in the Gulf region across a multitude of sectors. He noted that Her Royal Highness's presidency of the SCW reflects the significant attention given to Bahraini women and the national will to empower and distinguish them in the present and future., praying to Allah the Almighty to grant Her Royal Highness good health and happiness and guide her actions towards goodness.

The University President lauded the national initiatives and programmes that reinforce the contributions of women as an essential component and worthy, positive partner in building and revitalising the state. He stressed the sustainability of the progress made by Bahraini women and the continuous enhancement of their skills and effective capabilities in deepening the path of sustainable development.

Furthermore, Dr Al Fuhaid expressed his pride in the capabilities of women in the academic sector and in the notable entrepreneurial experiences of women in higher education, recognising their influential roles in advancing women’s partnerships in achieving national accomplishments. He emphasised AGU’s pride in the exceptional female talents in academia and its commitment to attracting distinguished women and providing them with opportunities for development and scientific achievement.

“Women at the Arabian Gulf University have made significant contributions that have enhanced their academic journey and earned them advanced scientific positions due to their competence and dedication to their work. They have actively participated in numerous international conferences and have received global awards in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Additionally, they have contributed through consulting, studies, training and organising conferences in areas such as medicine, environment, education, sustainable development and innovation.”
