His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of Arabian Gulf University (AGU), extended his warmest congratulations to the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States on its 50th anniversary. He praised the pioneering role the Bureau has played since its establishment in 1975 in fostering joint Gulf educational initiatives and enhancing cooperation and integration among GCC countries in education and training. He wished the Bureau continued leadership and excellence in serving education and advancing collaborative efforts, fulfilling the aspirations of the Gulf states and their peoples for a brighter educational future.

This milestone marks a significant chapter in the Bureau’s history, affirmed Dr Al Fuhaid, reflecting a journey filled with contributions that have solidified its status as a leading hub of expertise as well as a platform for educational decision-making, exchange of knowledge, and the development of policies and curricula. He expressed pride in the Bureau’s accomplishments over five decades, including impactful programmes and initiatives that have empowered educational leaders, reinforced shared Gulf identity and values, and adapted to rapid sector transformations. He stressed the importance of maintaining this vital role in shaping the future of Gulf education while placing human development at the heart of its vision.

It is noteworthy that the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States is commemorating its 50th anniversary under the slogan "Fifty Years of Leadership Excellence in Joint Educational Work" celebrating a long-standing educational journey. Over this duration, the Bureau has laid the foundation for joint Gulf educational efforts, acted as a cornerstone for educational development, and promoted educational integration and partnerships among Gulf states. An official ceremony will take place next Wednesday, 14 January, in Riyadh, under the patronage and presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh. The event will also be attended by His Excellency the Secretary-General of the GCC, and the Ministers of Education from Bureau member states.
