Agreement to Enhance Joint Cooperation between the University Medical Centre and Bahrain Specialist Hospital

Dr Salman Hamad Al Zayani, CEO of the University Medical Centre at King Abdullah Medical City, recently signed a cooperation agreement with Dr Najah Rashid Al Zayani, Vice Chairperson of Bahrain Specialist Hospital. The aim of this agreement is to broaden the horizons of cooperation in the field of medical expertise and knowledge exchange and to develop medical services provided to patients by both parties.

The agreement will encompass various fields, including the development of specialised healthcare programmes, the exchange of research and medical expertise, and medical training, all aimed at enhancing the quality of medical services through the application of the latest technologies and smart devices in the healthcare sector. 

Additionally, this agreement marks a significant step toward reinforcing joint cooperation in the medical field and reflects the commitment of both sides to advancing healthcare and contributing to the improvement of community health in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC countries.

During the signing ceremony of the agreement held at the University Medical Centre, attended by several officials from both sides, Dr Al Zayani stressed the importance of this agreement in enhancing mutual relations across various diagnostic and therapeutic domains, including diagnostic radiology, obstetrics, cardiac catheterisation, and sleep laboratories. He stated that this partnership represents a crucial strategic step towards elevating medical services in Bahrain and the surrounding region.

“We believe in the importance of joint collaboration with major private hospitals in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as we strive together to enhance and support the development of medical and health services, aiming to improve the quality of care and medical services through the exchange of knowledge, expertise and contemporary practices in healthcare to benefit all patients,” Dr Al Zayani added.

For her part, the Vice Chairperson of Bahrain Specialist Hospital, indicated that this agreement seeks to establish long-term cooperation in various medical specialties between both parties, explaining that this includes the exchange of clinical and medical expertise and the development of specialised healthcare programmes in diagnostic radiology, obstetrics, catheterisation, and innovations in modern medicine, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of medical and healthcare services provided to patients.

She added: “We are committed to providing the best possible healthcare, and this agreement will contribute to enhancing expertise and achieving integration among medical institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The collaboration with the University Medical Centre at King Abdullah Medical City would facilitate joint cooperation and improve clinical practices.”
